Slowing Down
Greetings to our fellow readers; Today we are going to learn a little bit about what the Bible says about "slowing down”. We live in what they call the "microwave age" where everything is fast-paced. We even get rewarded for doing things at a fast pace. Our generation is doing things faster than our ancestors did, and our children will do things at an even faster pace than we have. If we do not take the time to slow down we will burn ourselves out and we will not be any good to anyone, including ourselves. Now, after reading this, take deep breaths…take the time to smell the roses. Life is short and we need to enjoy it while we are here.
This is what the Bible says:
Exodus 20: 8-11 (NKJV)
Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
When you don’t slow down you will become stressed and frustrated, lose your joy and peace. You will not be very productive, and most importantly you will not hear from God.
These are some of the steps you can take in order to slow down:
1.) Prioritize – create order in your life by writing a list of the most important things you have to get accomplished.
2.) Remove things from your schedule –things have to be removed because you can’t do everything at the same time. Everything has a season.
3.) Let go of things that are weighing you down - Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1)
4.) Learn to say NO – you can’t be everything to everybody. Saying no frees you from being tied down to things God never intended for you.
5.) Schedule a day of rest-For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. (Exodus 20:11)
Slow down or your body will shut down. Pushing yourself to do things faster will not make you richer or make you the most important person on earth. It will only burn you out, make you tired and less productive. Take heed to slow down and REST.

WhoAre You
This is a question I pose to all of God's children today. Some may answer this question by telling all about themselves, from how they look to what they wear and so on. But is that really who you are? Think about that for a minute. Why do you think you have been put on this earth? What purpose do you serve?
Don’t get caught up in seeing yourself as the world sees you. You are not defined by how much money you have in the bank, by what kind of job you have, where you live nor what kind of car you drive.
Make this personal, because some of us might need to define ourselves a little differently and not judge ourselves the way the world judges us.
Who you really are is who God says you are and this is what He says in His Word.
Gods says:
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am God's temple (1 Cor 3:16)
I am complete in Christ (Col. 2:10)
I am established, anointed, sealed by God (2 Cor. 1:21-22)
I am a citizen of Heaven. I am significant (Phil. 3:20)
I am a member of the body of Christ (1Cor.12:27)
I am a personal witness of Christ (Acts 1:8)
I am bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a friend of Christ (John 15:15)
I have been redeemed and forgiven (Col. 1:14)
I have been justified (Romans 5:1)
I cannot be separated from the love of God (Rom. 8:35-39)
When you think you’re a nobody, you don't matter, no one cares or you cannot figure out who you are, just remember who God says you are.
I will leave you with this poem I wrote:
The Word of God will
Move you, Shake you, Rearrange you
Cultivate, Motivate, Stimulate you
Let the words penetrate your heart
Sink into your mind
Resonate your being
Until you come to the realization of
Who you are.....
I pray this will help you along the way and it turns your views of who you are into who God says you are.
