#D'Aych

D'Aych " I can’t give all of the details… but let’s just say that this Movement Music Mixtape is CRAZY!!!

BY: Lisa Ward

D’Aych, welcome back home, you are one of Secdum Magazine’s veterans because you were in our very first year of publication, you remember?

Yes I do remember.  It was a blessing for me, as an independent artist from Milwaukee WI, to be on the same cover of Secdum Magazine as Dr. Tracy Randall and Bow Wow.  Thank you for the opportunity.  That was a great look for me, and I want to say thank you to Secdum Magazine for that.

You are very welcome.  That is what Secdum Magazine is all about.  Now since we last talked, you have dropped D’Aych Transformed. I must say I loved the project and the cover. What was the inspiration of the artistic creation of the overall project?

Transformed was a song that was based on the scripture in Romans 12:2 which says; “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”.  I also teamed up with my brother in Christ, Patrick Blend, for the artistic creation.  We played on the idea of me becoming a “Transformer” figure.  That is definitely one of the most creative pieces of artwork that I have released since I’ve been doing music.  Patrick is a great brother, and I’m honored to work with him whenever I have the opportunity to do so.

In one of your other interviews, you made a statement that stood out to me.  You stated “don’t look down on another man unless you are going to pick him up”.  What was the meaning behind your statement you wanted people to remember or walk away with?

This statement comes from the bottom of my heart.  I truly feel this way.  God has given me a passion for the people that society has categorized as outcasts because I’m considered an outcast as well.  This statement comes from a song that I used to hear my father play as a kid by one of his favorite quartet groups the Jackson Southernaires.  Once I become old enough to realize that it was more than a song, it became my way of thinking as it pertains to those who are less fortunate.  Regardless of how high the Lord takes me, I don’t ever want to be so out of reach that I don’t have compassion for people.
